Gamepro was on hand to find out what a Nuke does when it’s dropped on to your units from above.

That’s when the Red Ring of Death appeared. I didn’t notice the first one, as I was talking to one of the other Trion developers on hand about the game. Boom. Before I could get them to scoot away, I had lost my Scythes. Sure, I had the resources for them to respawn, but this set into motion the enemy’s plan to drive me back into my base. Using a combo of tactical nukes and dropped turrets, he chased my now ragtag units halfway across the map into my base. The turrets turned out to be stronger than I realized; not only were they damage sponges.

Latest EoN Junkies Editorials, Features and Exclusives

If you jump over to the Official Forums you’ll find a series of videos that explain almost everything known so far with End of Nations. So if you just started following End of Nations or you need to catch up, this is a great place to start. All the videos seen here were put together by community member Jaridan

Today is the official launch of EON Junkies, your prime source of information and news for all things End of Nations. With the success of our other fansites, namely RIFT Junkies, we turn our attention to Trion’s other ventures. Since we always like to bring you something special, we’re bringing you an interview with Lance James, Trion and End of Nations Community Manager.

Welcome to EON Junkies! Make sure you follow us on Twitter and Facebook!

EON Junkies: In your latest trailer you go over Co-op and PVP gameplay elements very briefly. I’d like to attempt to understand those a bit more in-depth. How do players fit in together in a persistent world? Traditional RTS games have you building up bases, farming resources and building units. How does that gameplay translate into an MMOG where you have tens or hundreds of players in a single area at the same time?

Lance James: When a player creates their Commander they will join one of the two playable factions (Shadow Revolution or Liberation Front). Both of these factions agree that the Order of Nations must be stopped but that does not mean that they agree on how the world should be run afterwards. This means that while playing through the co-op campaign the factions are fighting alongside each other. In the parts of the globe that the Order does not have firm control the Liberation Front and the Shadow Revolution are battling each other for control.

In End of Nations there isn’t a slow start-up based on gathering resources and base building, whatever units you have selected before coming to the map are placed on the battlefield and you go from there. You’ll gain resources by taking and holding certain points. Those resources can be spent on tactical structures, special Commander Abilities, and bringing back your units that have been destroyed.

EON released their latest addition to the armory: The Harpy.

As fast and vicious as its mythical namesake, the Harpy is an assault helicopter with few equals in the air. A quick and nimble attack aircraft despite its reinforced armor plating, the Harpy can cover vast distances on the battlefield in record time. Outfitted with an array of customized weapons, its most deadly armament is the Starstreak Missile. Launched in pairs at any aircraft in range, these forward-facing “fire-and-forget” missiles lock on and track their target relentlessly, bringing them down from the sky in a ball of fire.
